February

semi-overcast -1 °C

February went by very fast, it was also a pretty calm month and not much happened. I joined the school musical and the rehearsals are going great, the performances are on May 5th, 6th and 7th. I’m very excited about the musical because I am doing things I like, dancing and singing, the cast is very fun and we are having a great time. I snowboarded as much as I could and I hope I can go to the hill a couple more ties before it closes. Snowboarding is really fun and after the season is over who knows when I will be able to go snowboarding again? March will be an interesting month with the break and I hope I will get to do fun things. There are many new International Students in the school and they’re all very nice although I really miss the ones who left in the end of January. I hope I can see all those guys again. The weather is starting to get a little bit warmer and I have to admit that I’m happy about that except for the fact that I won’t get to snowboard again in Martock I really want the warm weather to come.

See you,

Alex!

January

snow 1 °C

Winter is completely amazing! Snow is beautiful and all the things you can do in the winter are just so fun. Okay, it is indeed very cold and shoveling snow is very tiring but not even that makes it be less fun. This month was full of different emotions, it was certainly fun because of all the winter activities but it was also extremely difficult saying goodbye to the international students who left. My host brother left and saying bye to him was just terrible. I’m going to miss all the students who left and I really hope I can see them again someday in the future. After my host brother left another international student came to live in the house too and I really hope we can bond and have a nice relationship.
I snowboarded for the first time this month and it was one of the best experiences of my life, I loved every single second of it and I am super addicted, of course I fell hundreds of times but it is still super fun and I just can’t stop doing it.
I joined the school musical and I am very excited for that, we are doing Footloose and my part was Shaw, the Preacher, I really look forward to do that and I hope it will be good. I am already having lots of fun in the rehearsals.
I’m really excited to meet the international students that are coming to my school this semester. I hope we will all get along really well.

October/November

snow -1 °C

It was Halloween and it was the first time I actually got to celebrate this holiday. It was a very fun experience to me and I loved every second of it. The group of international students in my school went trick or treating together, the costumes were awesome, there were giraffes, champions from League of Legends, angels, characters from Grease, ghosts, zombies and I was dressed up as Darth Vader. By the end of the night I had a huge pillowcase half full with candy. Trick or treating was extremely fun and I loved it.
Well, that was Halloween but there were also the weeks of preparation before, I carved two pumpkins and they turned out to be pretty cool even though it was the first time I carved pumpkins.
On November 11th was the Remembrance Day celebration and I went to watch it. It was very beautiful and very meaningful. It’s a good holiday because you get to remember all the Canadian soldiers who fought in wars and what they did.
It’s starting to snow and I’m getting pretty excited for the winter and the big amounts of snow. Canadians say I should not be excited for that though. But anyways I still want the winter to come.
The experience keeps on being great and I just don’t want it to finish.
